The Curriculum
In each country, region or continent, the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute works with leading diabetes organisations, public health institutes and physicians to identify the key topic areas for education. An independent faculty including internationally recognised diabetes experts will then participate in the design of the curriculum.
In general, the courses offered will provide training on innovative practice models and ways to implement proven guidelines and use existing diabetes tools and technologies in real time to solve patient problems.
Ultimately, the curriculum is the starting point for a lasting collaboration with the healthcare community.
Therapeutic Patient Education
The first introductory workshop on therapeutic patient education has now been developed and is open for registration.
Therapeutic patient education addresses the gap in the translation between science and the patient. It is the approach, which places the understanding and care of the patient at the centre of all activities. It can contribute to making healthcare more effective and more satisfying both for the professional and the patient.
Our workshop involves an interactive programme of group work, self-assessment, roleplays and lectures, all designed to give the participant an insight into therapeutic patient education.
Participants will be able to share in frontline clinical and diagnostic discoveries as well as therapeutic education techniques and the aims of diabetes care.
This introductory workshop provides a foundation for further courses in development.
